Reptile Adaptations
•Having a slower metabolic rate than similar sized
mammals, reptiles need less
food and breath less often. This translates into less water being lost by respiration.
•Many reptiles especially those living in the arid
environments get their water
solely from their food.
•Reptiles also convert their waste into uric acid which
can be secreted with only a
small amount of water.
