Great Basin Spadefoot

Spadefoot toad spends up to seven or eight months buried underground in a state of dormancy.
•They are primarily nocturnal which allows
them to avoid the
heat of daytime.
•When they do emerge to feed or mate it is
almost always
after rainfall.
